Did notice : Dogs stopped barking
Other encounters : Neighbor shot at "bear"
Almost every night Norman will wake up, not at the same time but at
different times, and sit on the porch and listen to the sounds . If the
sounds didn't wake up Carolyn he would wake her up to sit with him
on the porch. Within the last few weeks both Norman and his wife
have heard wood on wood sounds. they said the sounds can only
be described as wood on wood, woops, screams,ect.
Carolyn, Norman, and their daughter stated a something killed a
raccoon and it sounded like whatever had ahold of the raccoon had
it by the throat. They said they could hear the raccoon screaming as
it was being taken into the woods. They said the raccoon was a
large one and would put up a good fight. They knew this because
the raccoon use to come upon their porch so they knew how big it
was.
Carolyn told us that a few months back they had family over and
was eating some KFC. They took the trash out before they went to
bed. The next day they noticed that something has bitten through
the trash can. She said there were two large holes in the can. She
said whatever bit through the trash can had large cannines. Carolyn
said the only thing missing out of the trash can was the bags of
chicken bones. She said the trash can was large and very heavy
and she had a very hard time opening it by herself so whatever got
into the trash can had to be large.
Carolyn also told us her neighbors told her that something was
coming up to their house beating on the walls several times a week.
The neighbors thought it was a bear because they said it was large
and had hair all over its body. The neighbors finally got tired of the
"bear" beating on their house and one night the husband took out
his gun and shot at the animal. However, he missed it and shot the
power lines into and everyone in the area lost their power.
Carolyn and Norman's daughter was out walking with some family
members and found what looked like a nesting area (she saw a
picture we had of what we call a nesting area and she said it looked
exactly like it) and found lots of feathers in the nesting area. She
said there were several different kinds feathers there. She also
found some scat by the area.
(This area is mostly wooded, by a river and has several caves on it.)
